Yuki Kiyono

Yuki Kiyono is the Global Head, Health & Wellness Development for AMAN.

A respected figure in the world of wellness with extensive experience to her name, Yuki will further develop the Aman Wellness initiative, which launched in 2016.

Yuki has already been hugely instrumental in the conceptualisation, launch and continuing success of this initiative, as from October 2015 to date she has served as Aman’s Regional Spa Director for North Asia. Going forward, Yuki will be responsible for leading the creation and implementation of spa business strategy worldwide, and will oversee management of all existing spas ensuring the highest quality of service and treatments. She will also guide the development of new Aman Spas and conceptualise all future wellness programmes together with her dedicated team and the leading holistic experts with whom the brand already collaborates.

Yuki’s wealth of experience spans 13 years and encompasses the full gamut of luxury spa operation and directorship. Hailing from Osaka, Japan, Yuki gained her initial qualifications in Tokyo, before completing a business degree at the University of New York. Yuki was soon poached by the Japanese hotel industry where her communication skills and operational expertise were highly sought after. Yuki’s time at the Grand Hyatt Tokyo Nagomi Spa was followed by her first stint at Mandarin Oriental Tokyo, where she redefined quality spa experiences in Tokyo and was instrumental in the hotel winning a plethora of industry awards. In search of a new challenge, Yuki moved to China’s capital in late 2008, where she opened Fairmont Beijing’s integrated spa and fitness centre to great critical acclaim. In 2011, Yuki returned to the Mandarin Oriental Tokyo, just one week before Japan’s devastating earthquake and tsunami. Once again showing immense grit and determination, she ensured that the Mandarin Spa weathered the economic storm, winning further industry accolades. Looking to broaden her horizons, Yuki ventured next to Singapore, where she took up the wellness helm at Mandarin Oriental Singapore, once again garnering an impressive array of spa awards for the hotel.

By late 2013, Yuki’s determination, diligence and innovation were well known in the industry. This expertise, coupled with her in-depth knowledge of Japanese culture made her the ideal candidate for launching the Aman Spa at Aman Tokyo – the brand’s debut urban destination, joining as Spa Manager of the hotel in January 2014. Passionate about offering a uniquely integrative, holistic wellness experiences that deliver palpable results and teach wellness habits that last long after guests have left the resort, Yuki is excited about her new role: “The authentic personalised approach of the Aman Wellness offering is something I look forward to further establishing. Being selected to further develop the Aman Wellness brand globally and bring this holistic outlook to a wider audience is an absolute honour.”

Yuki is also a speaker at Beyond Activ EMEA in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
