Mauro Frota is Co-Founder & CEO of BHOUT.
From an early age, passionate and involved in martial arts, he has over 30 years of experience in this sport and over 20 years in the fitness industry. Academically, his journey has continuously focused on the world of sports. In 2000, he graduated in Sports Sciences from the University of Lisbon. Between 2005 and 2011, he pursued a postgraduate degree in Fitness Marketing and another in Gym and Health Club Management. Professionally, his career demonstrates his great desire to learn and develop his skills and to spread his knowledge and provide it to others. In this sense, he has taught various subjects over time, such as Customer Retention in Gyms and Health Clubs at the Lusófona University of Humanities and Technologies, and Service Quality and Customer Satisfaction at MANZ. Beyond the academic sphere, technology and entrepreneurship have also been part of his life. In 2005, he founded the pioneering fitness and wellness centre named Evolution, in Montijo. In 2008, he became Director Advisor of the Association of Fitness and Health Clubs – AGAP. In 2010, he was a customer retention software development consultant for the Software House Arquivandus. In 2016, he worked as a Master Coach for Portugal and Spain at Precor. In 2020, he founded BHOUT, where he holds the position of CEO, and where he created the ‘first boxing bag with a brain. At BHOUT, he combines technology with fitness in a revolutionary way, integrating sensors into boxing bags with 3D Computer Vision, Artificial Intelligence, and Machine Learning. Its foundation lies in an entertainment ecosystem that gamifies boxing workouts, allowing customers to create content, play, fight, and compete, promising great moments of fun.
