Julian Barnes is the Co-Founder and CEO of BFS Network.
Julian is an athlete, educator, and entrepreneur who has devoted his life and career to promoting the joy and health benefits of being physically active. His passion for fitness began when he was a competitive junior tennis player and for the last 15 years, he has used his leadership, strategic planning and analytical skills to support individuals, companies and organizations to help them develop & deliver innovative fitness & wellness programs in their communities. Today, he is the Co-Founder and CEO of BFS, a growth accelerator for fitness, wellness and premium beauty service businesses. Barnes created New York University’s Institute in Entrepreneurship & Small Business Management, taught the Fitness Marketing & Management class at the Swedish Institute’s College of Health Science, and lectured at Columbia University and Wharton. In addition to co-authoring BFS’ annual State of the Industry, Barnes is a frequent speaker at conferences such as the Health & Fitness Assn, the IDEA Health & Fitness Assn and the National Strength & Conditioning Assn. He has also been featured in publications such as The New York Times, Men’s Health and Crain’s NY and he is a frequent podcast guest on Escape Your Limits, HALO Talks and the Future of Fitness. He earned his BA from Tufts University and his JD from the UNC at Chapel Hill School of Law.
