Edwin Ho

Edwin Ho is Vice President, Health and Wellbeing, Asia Pacific at BP.

Dr Edwin is an occupational health physician with more than 10 years of working experience in the field of clinical and occupational medicine. He started of his career with the Ministry of Health Malaysia in Hospital Seremban and went on to serve the district of Jelebu, a primary healthcare facility. Being the Chief Medical Officer in charge of 4 district clinics and more than 30 staff, he chalked up valuable experience in public health serving the local community and sharpening his leadership skills.

Edwin then pursued his Master of Occupational Medicine, Safety and Health in Edith Cowan, Perth, Australia. Keen to gain more experience in this field, he joined the Department of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH), which is the regulatory body in Malaysia under the Ministry of Human Resources. Serving as the Head of Occupation Health unit in Penang, he worked closely with different corporations, not only enforcing the law but providing support for them to comply with the law. He then moved to DOSH Selangor and worked even closer with the headquarters in Putrajaya, reviewing and creating national health and safety regulations for Malaysia.

Equipped with knowledge and experience in clinical medicine, public health and occupational medicine, he decided to dip his toes in the oil and gas industry starting as the Senior Occupational Health Physician, then later becoming the Downstream Health Manager covering downstream operations before heading the overall Health team in Shell Malaysia as the Country Health Manager. Recently, Edwin embarked on a new journey moving to BP in Singapore, where he leads Health and Wellbeing for Asia Pacific. He also works closely as part of the global health leadership team, planning the overall health strategy for BP.

He is the current Chairman of MCHAF (Malaysia Corporate Health Advisors’ Forum), where Occupational Health Physicians of various organizations meet to share good practices and updates amongst each other. He also sits on the council of the Academy of Occupational and Environmental Medicine Malaysia (AOEMM). He continues to be active in Malaysia Medical Association (MMA) as the editor of their monthly publication. Edwin is passionate in sports and at his free time, plays football and badminton regularly. He is also passionate about entrepreneurship and investments, hoping to always find a more effective way to grow his little savings.

Edwin is also a speaker at Beyond Activ World in Singapore.
