Alex Natera is Senior Executive at the New South Wales Institute of Sport.
He is the Manager of the Sport Science Department overseeing 40 expert practitioners across the sport science disciplines. Alex is a globally recognised leader in performance support with nearly 25 years of experience working internationally across multiple institutes of sport across Europe, Australasia, and the Middle East and professional football codes in the EPL, Premiership Rugby and the AFL. In this process Alex has directly supported athletes and performance teams to achieve World Records, Olympic Medals, World Championships, Grand Finals and Premierships across a mixture of 18 different sports.
Alex is a sought-after speaker, presenter and educator and has held consultancy roles across major sporting bodies from the NBA to the EPL. Alex has published across a range of sport science disciplines and holds a PhD in repeat power ability; a topic encompassing Biomechanics, Physiology and Strength & Conditioning, where his discipline specific expertise is grounded. Alex has led multiple Sport Science & Sport Medicine teams in the applied world and has also worked in academia across the undergraduate and postgraduate level within Sport Rehabilitation, Sport Science, Coaching Science and Strength & Conditioning Science.
