Paul Tietjens

Paul is the Head Coach for the National Teams 7s at the Singapore Rugby Union , bringing over 13 years of experience in coaching and teaching, with eight of those years spent in high-performance and international rugby environments.

He has coached in Samoa, Papua New Guinea, and Japan, and has also worked with New Zealand 7’s development sides and the Bay of Plenty provincial program, contributing to elite player development across the region.

With a Bachelor of Sport and Exercise and a Graduate Diploma in Secondary Teaching (Physical Education and Health), Paul combines educational insight with practical coaching expertise. His philosophy centers around meaningful communication, educating and connecting with athletes not just as players, but as people, aiming to help them grow into the best versions of themselves.

Driven by values such as effort, integrity, empathy and humility, Paul is passionate about developing individuals who lead with character. He believes that better people make better athletes and is committed to building environments where personal development and performance go hand in hand.
