Herman Rutgers is an international executive with an extensive experience in managing international businesses, of which the last 32 years have been in the global fitness industry.
He is President of Global Growth Partners, his consulting company in The Netherlands. On the manufacturing side he served as EVP at Life Fitness/Hammer Strength and was investor / board member of Octane Fitness International.
On the operator side he was a board member of European chains like SATS, Activage, Fit4Free/Sportcity and during the last 9 years at Basic-Fit, Europe’s leading operator. He is the co-founder and Ambassador of EuropeActive, founder of the annual European Health & Fitness Forum, International Ambassador for RX-FIBO, advisor to the Wellness Foundation and intermediary Wellhub. Herman is the co-author of the annual European Health & Fitness Market Report with Deloitte, and has contributed to 12 books on the fitness industry. He is also a speaker at Beyond Activ Europe in Madrid, Spain.
