Beyond Activ is proud to announce that this year’s Lifetime Achievement Award winners at our Americas event are Pete Grymkowski, Ed Connors, and Tim Kimber. These three individuals have been instrumental in shaping the history and global growth of Gold’s Gym, guiding the brand to unprecedented success and establishing its worldwide presence. In 1979, Pete Grymkowski and Ed Connors acquired Gold’s Gym in Santa Monica, California. Two years later, joined by Tim Kimber, they relocated the gym to its now-iconic Venice Beach location—widely known as the “Mecca of Bodybuilding.” Over the following two decades, the trio transformed Gold’s Gym into a global powerhouse, launching a licensing model that expanded the brand to more than 500 locations worldwide. Their collective vision, passion, determination, and commercial acumen helped define one of the most iconic brands in fitness history—generating hundreds of millions in revenue while inspiring millions of people to lead healthier, happier lives. Their legacy endures not only through the brand itself, but through its global footprint, its alumni, and its lasting impact on our industry. We thank Pete, Ed, and Tim for their extraordinary contribution and for paving a path that so many continue to follow today.
