Kathleen Tullie

Kathleen Tullie is the Founder & CEO of Active Kids & Minds, formerly known as BOKS, one of  the largest grassroots physical activity programs for children in North America.

Launched from a single school in 2009, the program has since scaled to reach well over 1 million children globally, offering  free, evidence-based physical activity and nutrition curricula to support whole-child wellness.

Motivated by a personal health scare and inspired by the book Spark by Dr. John Ratey, Kathleen left  an 18-year career in real estate finance to focus on prevention through movement and play. Her work  has been recognized by First Lady Michelle Obama’s Let’s Move initiative, and she received the  President’s Council on Fitness Community Leadership Award in 2013. Kathleen has partnered with  leading public and private entities such as Reebok, adidas, the World Health Organization, and the  Partnership for a Healthier America to deliver impactful programming across communities.

Most recently, she was as Head of Social Purpose at Reebok International and served as a consultant  for the WHO, helping develop its Register of Commitments to reduce global physical inactivity by  15% by 2030, and as Head of Social Purpose at Reebok International.

Kathleen has also been featured in numerous media outlets, including The New York Times, CBS,  Huffington Post, NESN, and NPR. Family Circle listed Kathleen as one of the 20 Most Influential  Moms, and she gave a TEDx talk in 2017. A graduate of Western Michigan University (BA) and The  University of Edinburgh, Scotland (MBA), Kathleen has spent her career in Japan, Scotland, and the  US and currently lives outside of Boston, MA with her husband, two kids, and her two golden retriever dogs, her favorite running partners.
