- Firstly, huge congrats to the winners of our 2022 Awards of Excellence announced last month in Singapore. Winners included: Myzone, Mindbody, ClassPass, Therabody, Lift Brands, BFT, Accor, Fitness Playground, Chris Caldwell, Greg Oliver and Jack Thomas.

- Two decades of Anytime Fitness! A big congrats to Chuck Runyon, David Mortensen and worldwide franchise owners, master franchisees & leadership team across all of our brands. Congrats also for another huge milestone, as Anytime Fitness Japan opens their 1,000th club. Incredible!
- Yu Life raised $120M (Series C round) at an $800M valuation for gamified, wellness-focused life insurance. The funding brought in a new strategic investor on board, Japan’s Dai-ichi Life Insurance Company, which is leading the round
- Core Health & Fitness acquired Jacobs Ladder, the leader in ladder climbing fitness offerings.
- Peloton stops making its own products – outsources manufacturing solely to Taiwan-based Rexon, suspending operations with Tonic Fitness Technology in Taiwan. Congrats to the Rexon team.
- Qantas plans to add a dedicated “wellbeing zone” to future aircraft, complete with on-screen fitness content, healthy snacks, and a hydration station.
- Cotton On Group invest in upstate studios in Victoria to expand nationally in AU
- Congrats to VIVA Leisure who now have 150 clubs open, they listed on the ASX with 29 locations in early June 2019 – incredible growth from Harry and his team. They also announced that they achieved $10 million in monthly revenue for the first-time during May.
- BFT (Body Fit Training) opened its 200th site – in the Auckland suburb of Flat Bush. They have also surpassed 400 franchises sold and will round out 450 sold by the end of Q3.
- Congrats to Roman and the Air Locker Training team who have just confirmed a deal to expand their franchise offering into the US – clubs to be launched there soon!
- Club Active opened their eighth club – Club Active Dee Why – in Sydney’s Northern Beaches
- Western Australia’s largest Snap Fitness opens in Fremantle
- Congrats to FireFit securing a new international location in Brisbane’s SunnyBank area!
- Xtend Barre Australia launched On Demand, an online pre-recorded workout library that gives users the option to Xtend anywhere, anytime.
- UFC Gym opens new ‘signature’ club in the Sydney CBD - this ‘state of the art’ facility offers functional training classes, weights, cardio, wellness, recovery zones, MMA, allied health services and a premium juice bar
- Fitstop Yarrabilba #80 opened at the end of May.
- REVL Training Studio #14, REVL Greenslopes opened doors to members. They are excited to continue their expansion across Queensland… but first, REVL Port Melbourne launching mid-July!
- TotalFusion Morningside is set to open the biggest gym facility in Queensland – grand in both size and offerings with their 6 studio spaces: yoga, functional, fusion, cycle, run and reformer classes, art gym, child minding services and unique wellness centre.

- A new free app – Get Active Victoria – provides users with exercise tips and workout videos. Launched by the Victorian Government, the app aims to promote physical activity to the public
- Anytime Fitness is gearing up for their annual ‘Tread As One’ fundraising challenge this October for ‘R U OK?’ – with the intent to better support members and staff on having conversations that save lives.
- Uniigym smart workout service has officially launched with Singtel in Singapore – AI technology real-time feedback, AR fitness coach, personal health management, various fitness programmes and workout rankings/results
- Intellect announced a new capital raise of US$20M in a Series A deal to continue building a mental healthcare system made for Asia Pacific. In just 2 years, they’ve been able to scale and serve over 3 million members, with largest employers and partners in the region
- Ultrahuman, a metabolic health company, acquired LazyCo, an Indian smart ring maker last April and is now entering the smart ring wars.
- Sport Singapore will take over the ownership and management of the Singapore Sports Hub with plans to make it more accessible to the broader community in Singapore.

- Minmed completed the acquisition of Revel Cycle as part of their plan to integrate screening, fitness and nutrition in their primary care service provision. This comes on top of their fitness studio at Pearl’s Hill that commenced operations last Dec.

- FLGs Jetts Thailand opened its 39th club in Sai Mai in northern Bangkok and anticipates 42 clubs by the end of the year, with confident predictions of surpassing 50 locations during 2023.

- Hong Kong’s 2021 Women Powerlifting Champion, Stella Lee, launched a performance-focused activewear line – The LFG Squad, Hong Kong’s newest activewear brand.
- AimFit, Pakistan’s #1 digital health & wellness solution crossed 50,000 workouts on the AimFIT app
- Premium equipment designer and manufacturer, ZIVA, has launched a new line of products – “Light Commercial” – specially catered to the growing demand for smaller, more private, more personalized boutique training studios with a greater focus on functional fitness.
