His passion for fitness began when he was a competitive junior tennis player and for the last 15 years,&nbsp;he has used his&nbsp; leadership, strategic planning and analytical skills to support&nbsp;individuals, companies and organizations to help them develop &amp; deliver innovative fitness &amp; wellness programs in their communities.&nbsp;Today, he&nbsp;is the Co-Founder and CEO of BFS, a growth accelerator for fitness, wellness and premium beauty service businesses. Barnes&nbsp;created New York University\u2019s Institute in Entrepreneurship &amp; Small Business Management, taught the Fitness Marketing &amp; Management class at the Swedish Institute&#8217;s College of Health Science, and lectured at Columbia University and Wharton.&nbsp;In addition to co-authoring BFS\u2019 annual State of the Industry, Barnes is a frequent speaker at&nbsp;conferences such as the Health &amp; Fitness Assn, the IDEA Health &amp; Fitness Assn and the National Strength &amp; Conditioning Assn. He has also been featured in publications such as The New York Times, Men\u2019s Health and Crain\u2019s NY and he is a frequent podcast guest on Escape Your Limits, HALO Talks and the Future of Fitness.&nbsp;&nbsp;He earned his BA from Tufts University and his JD from the UNC at Chapel Hill School of Law.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Julian is also a speaker at <a href=\"https:\/\/beyondactiv.com\/events\/americas\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/beyondactiv.com\/events\/americas\/\">Beyond Activ Americas<\/a> in Dallas, USA.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Julian Barnes is the Co-Founder and CEO of BFS Network.
